Feb 22, 2017. #1. Hi All, I have a ford glaxy 1.8 tdci (08 reg - 115,000 miles) last year it had a recon turbo fitted, as well as starter moter and Dual Mass Flywheel. I felt like it wasn't the same though, at about 1900 rpm the car would hiccup! and just felt like there was a lack of power generally, but mechanic said that I must have changed

All the noises, when they occur, go away after a further 10 - 15 secs or so, never to reoccur until (perhaps) the next totally cold start (after overnight cooling). 1. "Diesel rattle". Well, more of a clatter with a half to one second 'pulsing'. As above, starts a few secs after engine is running. Posted September 30, 2016. I have a ford focus 1.8 tdci 115ps year 2002. There are a couple of problems with it. when starting from cold the engine ticks over normally but when i start to drive it seems to miss fire until the engine warms up a little. The colder the weather the worse the problem.

I have an S-Max 1.8 TDCi Zetec 07 plate, that has an intermittent starting problem. Most times it will start OK, but then others it starts and almost immediately cuts out, almost like it has hit a flat spot. You then have to wait anything up to an hour, but typically 5-10 mins before trying to start the car again. At all other times it runs fine.
